Dallas green sings acoustic songs and stars within acoustic music videos. His acoustic music videos, are conventional to the acoustic genre, and therefore dallas green is going to act as influence for my music video. he names himself  'city and colour' Which comes from himself. Dallas whihc is a city and green which is a colour. Dallas green/city and colour palys the guitar and is a singer, he performes these talents together and this creates acoustic, folk music.

City and colours music video 'the girl' is an acoustic music video. This fits into my genre. First the audience is shown a close up of a middle of a guitar, close ups are conventional to acoustic music videos. The camera then slowly pans around the guitar to show a hand playing it, this shows the audience that the song is acoustic, as acoustic is singing to a guitar. The camera then cuts to a forest of skinny trees and it then pans again, the movements of the pans within the video fit to the beats of the song, as acoustic songs are slow, so are the pans shown within the video. We are then shown a medium close up shot of leaves, this set the scene, as does the forest, the leaves are also shown blowing to the wind, and the leaves are blowing at the same pace of the song. We are then shown the artist playing the guitar, and he starts to sing, this shows performance, performance within video promotes the artist. The camera then pans around again to show a long shot of a graffiti tunnel, where the man is performing on a tree stump. The camera then zooms out slowly to show all of the shot, we then see a women walk through the shot and past the man the women echoes the title of the song 'The girl'.

The camera then cuts to another setting and again shows the man performing; the lighting is dull within the scene. Dull lighting is conventional to acoustic music videos as it conveys emotion. The camera then zooms out from the man again, and shows two silhouettes walk down the steps in front of the room the artist is in. It shows a man and a woman, this could suggest the girl that the artist is singing about is now with another man. The camera then fades to show the celling of a different room again, the fade echoes the song, as the song is slow and soft, and the editing of a fade is also slow and soft. The room in which the man is in has a large standing mirror on the floor and old vintage ornaments, this suggests that the room is used for storage, the room also has a large fireplace, and this suggests he is an old Victorian house.

The camera then pans down to again show the man within a seat performing. The audience is then shown a close up of the side of the artists face. This shows the artist facial expression which therefore conveys emotion.

The camera again fades out to show three silhouettes walk through a door way, in which belongs to the room that the artist is singing in, the camera then moves closer to the artist, and again shows him performing whilst sat down. The camera then fades to the room the artist was previously in and shows two silhouettes walk past the door way again. The silhouettes that are shown throughout the video could represent a person passing his life by, which furthermore reflects the girl that he is singing about. The camera then fades back to the first setting of the forest, and shows the man performing sat down again, the guitar then fades out to a black screen, and the music stops.

The audience is then shown credits “city and colour the girl” and a guitar begins to play again, however the pace of the guitar is faster than the guitar played within the last scene, the camera then shows a tracking shot of a man walking through a hallway to a room were the artist is performing in front of many people. The contrast is black and white; this is conventional to acoustic music videos as it conveys emotion.

The camera then shows the two different situations together within one shot, with credits that say “vocalist/guitar” Dallas Green” then shows two different shots and different credits tat read  director/editor Marc Ricciardelli” these credits’ carry on for 60 seconds, credits within a music video promote different people throughout the music industry for example singers, directors, editors ect. It makes the music video almost like a film. After the credits the camera then shows a low angle shot of trees and the pace of the music goes back to before, the artist is then shown were he first started, performing again.

The Artist is shown performing sat down, this could be to convey emotion, by sitting down it conveys sad emotion, as it is not lively and happy, whereas standing or dancing would convey happiness. Also he is shown in a black jacket and black trousers, dark clothing could represent unhappy emotion also.
